Brother Dan Korn, C.Ss.R.,
during one of his Icon Missions.

Hello and welcome.

My name is Brother Dan Korn C.Ss.R. and I am a Redemptorist.

The Redemptorists are priests and brothers to whom Pope Pius IX entrusted the original icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in 1866.

The original icon (painting) of Our Mother of Perpetual Help is one of the world’s most beloved and recognizable images of Mary and the Christ child. This artistic treasure dates to the 15th century and is venerated by Christians, like you, across the globe. Carbon-14 testing indicates that the wood of the icon can safely be dated from the years 1325 to 1480. The icon is the centerpiece of the International Shrine to Our Mother of Perpetual Help at the Church of Sant'Alfonso in Rome, Italy.

Today, this is the only website in the world where you can view and pray before the original icon of Our Mother. I invite you to present your intentions to Mary and to join with a global community of faith as we pray for each other. Take time in your day to learn about icons and the history of the original icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. You may also light a candle or send an e-Card to a friend with the image of Our Mother, Her prayer, and a personal message from you.

Through this website, we are creating a worldwide community of prayer around Our Mother of Perpetual Help and we invite you to join us in this effort to further devotion to “Our Mother” and to deepen your personal spiritual relationship to Our Mother.

Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us!
